Welcome to this month's Wellness Focus – Managing Psychosocial Hazards Psychosocial hazards can create stress. This can cause psychological or physical harm. Stress itself is not an injury, but if workers are stressed often, over a long period of time, or the level of stress is high, it can cause harm. When psychosocial hazards are not properly addressed, it may lead to issues such as anxiety, depression, musculoskeletal injuries, chronic diseases/chronic fatigue, post-traumatic stress disorder and sleep disorders. As 2023 comes to a close, we need to pay special attention to how we manage our stress levels when it comes to pressure from work, personal commitments and financial worries. Take the first steps to look after your mind and body by... - Being kind to yourself. Speak to yourself as you would speak to a friend. Get outside and immerse yourself in nature.
