Prevention is better than cure 

Welcome to this month’s wellbeing focus - injury prevention with the key tenet that prevention is better than cure. Prevention is to achieve or maintain optimal health relates to all aspects of wellness.

How to prevent injury 

  • If you’re working in a physical role warming up and stretching before starting your shift plus undertaking some regular strength and mobility training are key pillars of prevention. Check out our latest stretching videos to alleviate back pain partnered with pre-shift stretching on site.
  • Even if your role is desk based an important part of injury prevention is fitness, strength training and stretching which can improve your energy levels, posture and alleviate tight muscles. See some strength and stretching videos and check out our fitness resources.
  • It’s also imperative that your workspace is set up correct especially if you’re working from home. See our working from home set up tips and ergonomic guidelines HERE

Mental Health prevention 

Looking after our mental health is just as important as our physical health. This month we have mental health professional, Ejaz visiting on site to conduct face to face check in sessions.

  • When: Friday, February 11, 2022 | 12pm – 6pm
  • Location: First Aid Room, Level 1 Gordon Street Offices, 68-75 Lilyfield Rd, Rozelle

We listened 

Thank you for sharing your feedback on the health and wellbeing content you want to see this year with our online poll. The highest number of votes was for health screening. The good news is skin checks and lung screenings are coming up on site soon, stay tuned for details.
