Mental Health First Aiders
On the Rozelle Interchange Project, we believe that everyone is responsible for looking after the Health and Wellbeing of our mates on the project, which is why we have a 3 level approach encompassing all roles regardless of seniority:
Taking Action: Trained Mental Health First Aiders
Providing support for the project with specially trained personnel who you can approach if you are having issues, or if you are concerned about a workmate.
Raising Awareness: Managers and Superintendents
Providing support for our teams ensuring all senior managers undertake the Blackdog Institute mental health awareness training
This training is an interactive workshop that helps participants incorporate effective wellbeing leadership within their teams.
During this program, participants:
- Gain insight into the prevalence of mental health issues, changes in behaviour in teams and what these may mean.
- Develop the skills to have effective conversations around stress, mental health and wellbeing.
- Understand the resources available to them and develop the skills they need to support team members at work or assist in timely return to work after a sickness absence.
- Recognise the behaviours that effective managers, supervisors, and people leaders use to promote wellbeing within their team.
Open Communication: All Project Personnel
Providing support for each other with open communication through the year and promoting conversations via targeted initiatives.
